Robbie Rivera

Roberto " Robbie" Rivera (born 1973 in San Juan, Puerto Rico ) is a Puerto Rican DJ and music producer in the electronic music scene.


The first contact with electronic dance music he had in ages of about 10 years. His passion for various groups such as Depeche Mode, New Order and U2, brought him into contact with the contemporary electronic -influenced dance music.

At age 13, he bought the first mixer and two turntables and lent itself within a few years the skills to to later succeed as a DJ. During his youth, he tested a lot with the Roland drum machine that he could borrow from a friend.

In 1992 he moved to Miami in 1996 and released his first album El Sorrullo that was more attributable to Latin House division. Thus it created in the scene directly after the breakthrough and published on known record labels such as Subliminal, Filtered, Positiva, Mos, Azuli and Strictly Rhythm. One of his next hit Bang made ​​it to number 13 in the UK charts and in the top 10 of Australia.

Following the success of 1998 he founded his own label, Juicy Music, on which he could publish his own vision of electronic dance music free.

It was through his popularity as a remix artist in high demand and could be used for the likes of Faithless, Felix Da Housecat, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Gabriel & Dresden, Moloko, Bob Sinclar, Benny Benassi, Sinead O'Connor, Ferry Corsten, Ricky Martin, Carlos Santana, Steve Angello, Coburn, Superchumbo, David Guetta, Tocadisco, Pink and Basement Jaxx work.

Since 2005, he is married to Monica Olabarrieta who is also his business partner in the own label. Rivera was nominated in 2008 as " Best House Producer" on Beatport and "Best Remixer ' at the International Dance Music Awards.
