Robert Abrams

Robert Abrams ( born July 4, 1938 in New York City ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party.

Life and career

Abrams studied law at Columbia College in New York City. From 1966 to 1969 he was a member of the New York State Assembly; then he served from 1970 to 1979 in the wake of Herman Badillo as Borough President of the Bronx.

From 1979 to 1993 Abrams served as Attorney General of the State of New York. In 1993, he lost the elections to the Senate of the United States against the Republican Al D' Amato. Abrams has been a lawyer in New York City.
