Robert Atkins (politician)

Robert Atkins ( born February 5, 1946 in London ) is a British politician of the Conservative Party.

Life

After his schooling at Highgate School in London Atkins was politically active. 1979 Atkins was chosen for the Conservative Party in the House and belonged to the Parliament until 1997. From 1987 to 1989 Atkins was Minister of Industry and Aerospace, Department of Trade and Industry. In the years 1989 and 1990 was Atkins Sports Minister in the environment and later from 1990 to 1992 in the Ministry of Education. Since 1999, Atkins deputy in the European Parliament.

1997 Atkins was elevated to knighthood. Atkins is an honorary citizen of the City of London.
