Robert Audi

Robert Audi (* November 1941 ) is an analytic philosopher who works on issues of ethics and practical, especially political philosophy (such as the relationship between church and state ) as well as epistemology, philosophy of mind and social sciences and religion.

Life and work

He teaches at Notre Dame and is co-opted to the Department for Business Ethics. His 2005 book, The Good in the Right renewed an intuitionistic approach to ethics and developed an epistemology ethical truths.

His PhD purchased Audi from the University of Michigan. He taught briefly at the University of Texas at Austin and a few years at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, before he came to Notre Dame.

He is also known by the publication of the Cambridge Dictionary of Philosophy (first edition 1995, second 1999). In addition, he is the " Modern Readings in Epistemology " and " Metaphysics in Modern readings " out.
