Robert Balzar

Robert Balzar ( born May 11, 1962 in Náchod, Czech Republic) is a jazz bassist and composer.

Robert Balzar studied bass at the Conservatory in Brno. After starring in different formations, 1996, he founded the Robert Balzar Trio, which also Yvonne Sanchez accompanied. Through collaboration with the American jazz guitarist John Abercrombie, the trio gained international recognition.

Balzar worked with Najponk, Joe Newman, Benny Bailey, Tony Scott, Benny Golson, Wynton Marsalis, Lew Tabackin, Tony Lakatos, Victor Lewis, Hal Galper Trio and the Craig Handy.
