Robert Barth

Robert Barth ( born August 10, 1968 in Memmingen ) is a German speedway motorcycle racer. Barth was a four-time long course world champion in 2006 and stepped back from active racing.

After his education, Barth did an apprenticeship as a motor mechanic. He passed the master's examination and motor vehicle master.

Sporty forth Barth came in 1987 when he was " German Junior Champion " for the first time. The title he could win again the following year. In 1988 he was European champion and German Bundesliga champions. He was at the third World Cup in 1996. The World Championship title he was able to secure in the years 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006. In the Speedway World Championship Grand Prix Barth appeared as a wildcard rider: GP Germany 1997 Landshut, Germany GP 1998 Pocking, GP Germany 2001 Berlin and 2004 GP Czech Republic in Prague. Also in the Speedway team went Barth several years. In foreign leagues Barth started in the 90s in Pilsen / Czech Republic and also a short engagement in the Polish league is it to book. Today Barth successfully works as an engine tuner and mentor. He advises customers on the Finnish long-track GP pilot Aki -Pekka Mustonen and is a mentor of the 15-year old railway sports Supertalent Michael Härtel.

Due to its sporting successes Barth was elected ADAC Sportsman of the Year 2005.
