Robert Beavers

Robert Beavers (* 1949 in Brookline, Massachusetts) is an American avant-garde filmmaker who lives and works since the late 1960s in Europe.

Life

Beavers attended Deerfield Academy without, however, get a degree before he went to New York City in 1965. There he began to make films, but moved in 1967 with his partner Gregory J. Markopoulos to Europe. Here they produced films and lived up to Markopoulos ' death in 1992 together.

Both filmmakers restricted the release of their films for the general public, but they showed between 1980 and 1986 their works on the Temenos a place near Lyssaraia in Arcadia in Greece. After the death of his partner Beavers started the company Temenos, Inc. to preserve the memory of Markopoulos ' work and his films.

Beavers is dealing with it for years, his films for modern performance practices, and on television and on DVD recycle. He lives (2011 ) temporarily in Zumikon, Canton Zurich.
