Robert Boateng

Robert Kwabena Boateng (born 3 July 1974 in Obuasi ) is a former Ghanaian football player.

Life

Robert Boateng is from Ghana and is the uncle of Kevin -Prince and Jerome Boateng.

Football career

Boateng started his career with Gold Fields Obuasi. In the spring of 1995 he moved to Asante Kotoko and turned pro.

In 1997 he signed for Rosenborg BK in Norway and immediately became champion in the Tippeligaen. Boateng spent the next three seasons in the Tippeligaen in RBK and played in the 2000/ 01 season two qualifying matches for the UEFA Champions League. During his time at Rosenborg he was four times champion in the Tippeligaen. After four years at RBK he left the club in December 2000 and returned to King Faisal Babes back to Ghana. For the 2003 season, the Ghana Premier League he finished his career.

International assignments

Boateng ran for the Ghanaian national team in ten international matches and scored one goal. Boateng was also in the squad for the 1997 Korea Cup discharged.
