Robert Borden

Sir Robert Laird Borden ( born June 26, 1854 in Grand -Pré, Nova Scotia, † June 10, 1937 in Ottawa ) was a lawyer, Canadian politician and 1911-1920, the eighth Prime Minister of Canada - during the First World War. Borden managed by skillful negotiations to upgrade the status of Canada within the British Commonwealth. Borden was one of the Conservative Party of Canada in which he was chairman from 1901 to 1920.
