Robert Brown (football manager)

Robert Brown (* unknown; † March 1935 ) was an English football player and coach.

After a career in amateur football in his native region in the northeast of England, he began as a scout for Sheffield Wednesday. In 1911 he joined Portsmouth as Secretary Manager. This office he held from nine years to 1920 Secretary of Gillingham FC in May. However, this relationship only lasted four weeks, and was before he oversaw the team at just any game ended. Reason was an offer from Sheffield Wednesday. Under his leadership, Sheffield Wednesday managed to rise again in the top flight. Four years after the rise of the championship was celebrated (1929 ), he was this success a year later also recorded. After 13 years at Sheffield, he finished in 1933, a Jahrnach the death of his wife, for health reasons his coaching career. In 1935, he collapsed at the station in Leeds and died 24 hours later. He was buried in Wadsley, Sheffield.
