Robert Craft

Robert Lawson Craft ( born October 20, 1923 in Kingston, New York) is an American conductor and musicologist.

Life

Craft was from 1948 and until his death secretary, assistant and " Eckermann " by Igor Fyodorovich Stravinsky, to whom he dedicated numerous publications since the 1960s.

Craft, who became interested in early for the Second Viennese School and began - even towards his enemies originally with Arnold Schoenberg Mentor - applies dirigentisch as a specialist of classical modernism, but also took up works by Gesualdo, Monteverdi and Johann Sebastian Bach.
