Robert D. Orr

Robert Dunkerson Orr ( born November 17, 1917 in Evansville, Indiana, † March 10, 2004 in Indianapolis, Indiana ) was an American politician and from 1981 to 1989 the 45th Governor of Indiana.

Early years and political rise

Robert Orr studied to 1940 American History at Yale University. Subsequently, he attended the Harvard Graduate School of Business. During the Second World War, he brought it to the U.S. Army in the Pacific theater to the Major. Orr was a member of the Republican Party and began in Vanderburgh County his political career.
