Robert E. Smylie

Robert Eben Smylie ( born October 31, 1914 in Marcus, Cherokee County, Iowa; † 17 July 2004 in Boise, Idaho ) was an American politician and 1955-1967 Governor of the State of Idaho.

Early years and political rise

Robert Smylie came as a student to Idaho, where he attended the College of Idaho until 1938. Then he studied at George Washington University until 1942 Jura. During the Second World War he served in the U.S. Coast Guard. After the war he returned to Idaho and was a member of the Republican Party. Between 1947 and 1955 he was Attorney General of Idaho.

Governor of Idaho
