Robert Evans (politician)
Robert Evans ( born October 23, 1956 in Ashford, Surrey / Middlesex ) since 1994 has been an MEP for the Labour Party for London in the Socialist Group in the European Parliament.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Member of the Committee on Transport and Tourism
- Alternate to the Committee on Economic and Monetary
- Deputy for the delegation to the EU-Romania Joint Parliamentary Committee
- Member of the Delegation for relations with the countries of South Asia and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation ( SAARC)
After graduating from the University of London he was:
- Elementary school teachers
- Director of Junior School
- Chairman of a local chapter of the National Union of Teachers
- Constituency Leader of the Labour Party from Chertsey and Walton and
- Was a member of the State Executive Committee and Socialist Education Association.
From 1999 to 2004 Evans was Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Citizens' Freedoms and Rights, Justice and Home Affairs.
