Robert F. Marx

Robert F. Marx, alternatively Bob Marx ( born 1933), was one of the pioneers of the "American scuba divers" and is known for his work and publications on the subjects of shipwrecks and sunken treasures.

Its treasure hunting and underwater archaeologist colleague Edward Lee Spence describes Marx as the true father of underwater archeology. Marx has completed more than 5,000 dives and has written over 800 scientific articles and 59 books on history, archeology, shipwrecks and discoveries. Marx is married to Jennifer Marx and lives in Indialantic. She co-authored a number of his books. Marx was a founding member of the Council on Underwater Archaeology and the Sea Research Society, served the Society 's Board of Advisors and 1972 he participated in the creation of the " Research / professional degree" Doctor of Maritime History ( Doctor of Marine Histories ) part.
