Robert Gray (poet)

Robert Gray ( born February 23, 1945) is an Australian poet.

Gray grew up in the small town of Coffs Harbour on the north coast of New South Wales; this coast is also the site of many poems that establish his reputation as an outstanding landscape poet. He now lives in Sydney. Edward Thomas, DH Lawrence and William Carlos Williams are among his literary models. Gray is considered alongside Les Murray as one of the most important Australian poet of the present.
