Robert H. Park

Robert H. Park ( * 1902 in Strasbourg, † February 18, 1994 in Freeport, Illinois) was an American electrical engineer.

In him the basic shape of the d / q- transformation goes back, which he first formulated in 1928. This transformation for three-phase systems is also referred to by him as a Park transformation.

Park was born in Strasbourg in time, to which his father, the sociologist Robert Ezra Park, stayed to study in Germany. Robert H. Park grew up in Wollaston, Quincy (Massachusetts), in 1923 and completed his studies in electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree. He worked for several companies and organizations, including General Electric.
