Robert Hrgota

Robert Hrgota ( born August 2, 1988 in Celje, Yugoslavia ) is a Slovenian ski jumper.

Career

His first competition in the Slovenian National Team, he played as a junior on September 11, 2004 the FIS competitions at Villach. Due to continued good performance, he was admitted to the Continental Cup Team 2006. At the Junior World Cup on February 2, 2006 in Kranj he could reach 8th place on the normal hill.

On February 4, 2007 Hrgota had his first appearance at a World Cup competition. Titisee -Neustadt, he reached the 45th place on the large hill. But this was for another two years the only use in the World Cup team. He started to continue only in the Continental Cup and was there on 10 February 2007 at the Snowflake Ski Jump in the U.S. Westby jump for the first time on the podium with third place. At the Junior World Championship on 15 March 2007 at Italian Tarvisio he could put an exclamation point in jumping on the normal hill with space 18 before he later with the team surprisingly won the gold medal in the team jumping one day. Since January 9, 2009 Hrgota jumps back next to the Continental Cup in the World Cup. When ski flying in Tauplitz he failed with space 39 but already in the first round. Only in the World Cup ski flying event in Oberstdorf on 14 February 2009, he was able to gain first World Cup points with 27th place. On 15 February, he was with the team along with Primoz Pikl, Robert Kranjec and Rok Urbanc fifth. His previous best World Cup result achieved Hrgota on March 22, 2009, number 22 in ski flying in Planica.

His biggest success in the adult area Hrgota celebrated on July 20, 2012, when he won the team competition at the Summer Grand Prix in Polish Wisła with the Slovenian team. In the Slovenian championships on the normal hill, which were held on October 6, 2012 in Kranj, he jumped in third place for the first time on the podium.
