Robert J. Sampson

Robert J. Sampson is an American criminologist and is (2009) as one of the leading international representative of his academic subject.

Sampson is Professor of Criminology and Sociology at Harvard University. His best-known books on Entwicklungskriminologie he co-authored with John H. Laub. The authors developed, among others, the theory of turning points ( life turning points, for example, marriage, military service, or removal), which can lead to the termination of the criminal career. Sampson and Laub were able to prove their assumptions empirically by analyzing the long-term study of couple happiness.
