Robert Klein

Robert Klein ( born February 8, 1942 in New York ) is an American comedian and actor.

Curriculum vitae

Klein studied drama at Yale University when he got wind of a chance to audition for The Second City. In a piece he wrote for the book for improvised theater groups, Klein remembers how he performs sitting in a room with other hopefuls, including Fred Willard. Klein's audition consisted of an improvisation together with Willard about two guys in a night club. They played well enough to both Klein and Willard, to be included in The Second City. Klein reported that another young man, Billy Dee Williams, should also be included, but refused.

His first major appearance was classified in 1970 as a host in the television series Comedy Tonight. Most of the programs that he performed on the show were, a few years later marketed as records. His detailed programs on the Watergate affair helped him, especially in the 1970s to great fame. He was one of the first comedian who talked about current political events.

Klein had several appearances in comedy specials on HBO almost from the founding of the transmitter. Traditionally, he completed this program with the I can not stop program from my leg.

1979 Klein was nominated for a Tony Award as Best Actor in a Musical for his role in They're Playing Our Song.

Albums

Klein has released several albums, of which his first two were the most successful. In Child of the Fifties (German child of the fifties ), he just talks on the subject, to be a child of the 1950s. Because Klein was a child of the fifties, he had a lot of material on the subject. He talks about air raid exercises, music by Johnny Mathis, the presentation of condoms during high school dance evening, the meeting Yankee stars, as the Yankees have lost the World Series and much more.
