Robert Kramer

Robert Kramer ( born June 22, 1939 in New York City, New York, † November 10, 1999 in Rouen, France) was an American documentary filmmaker, actor and screenwriter.

Life

Kramer studied philosophy and Western European History at Swarthmore College and Stanford University. In the 1960s he was a member of the radical left. He was one of the founders in 1967 of the film collective " Newsreel ". 1969 turned Kramer along with Norman Fruchter and John Douglas in North Vietnam People's War. The negative utopia Ice visualized 1970, the fears of the radical left of a new fascism, impressively symbolizes the castration of a revolutionary.

Since the early 1980s, Kramer lived in Europe.
