Robert Lang (ice hockey)

Robert Lang ( born December 19, 1970 in Teplice, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player. He most recently played with the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League on the position of the center.

Career

Robert Lang began his career with HC Litvinov in the 1st League and was pulled at the NHL Entry Draft in 1990 by the Los Angeles Kings in the seventh round as 133. For the 1992/93 season he moved overseas, but played in the first two years, still common in the Phoenix Roadrunners in the IHL.

After the 1995/96 season ended Langs guest appearance in Los Angeles, with moderate success, and he returned to Europe. After a season with the HC Sparta Prague, but he tried yet again in the USA. In addition to a short stint for three games to the Boston Bruins were now the Pittsburgh Penguins his new team. He was able to increase steadily and so he managed in the five years to definitively prove in Pittsburgh as a major player in the NHL.

In 2002 he moved to the Washington Capitals. Shortly before the end of his second season in the capital, when he led the scorers in the league, it undertook the Detroit Red Wings. In the season 2006/ 07 he was able to advance with the Red Wings to the finals of the Western Conference.

In the summer of 2007 he was awarded a new contract in Detroit and moved to the Chicago Blackhawks, where he was able to build in 76 games on the performance of the preseason with 54 points, with the team but missed the playoffs. After only one year in Chicago long was transferred in September 2008 to the Montreal Canadiens.
