Robert Louis-Dreyfus

Robert Louis -Dreyfus (also RLD; born June 14, 1946 in Paris, † July 4, 2009 in Zurich ) was a French-Swiss entrepreneur.

Louis -Dreyfus, a graduate of Harvard Business School ( MBA), from 1982 to 1988, Chief Operating Officer (COO ), and later Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of the U.S. pharmaceutical market research firm IMS. From 1989 to 1993 he was CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi.

From 1994 to 2001 he was CEO of Adidas. From 1996 he was the largest shareholder on football club Olympique Marseille, also a board member of Standard Liege. From 2000, he led the family holding the Louis Dreyfus Group. Until 2004 he was a shareholder ( 35 percent) and chairman of the board of the telecommunications company Neuf Cegetel.

Louis -Dreyfus was married to Margarita Louis -Dreyfus and had three children. His cousin Julia Louis -Dreyfus is American film actress. He died of leukemia.
