Robert Lukas

Robert " Bobby" Luke ( born August 29, 1978 in Vienna) is an Austrian national ice hockey player on the position of the defender. Since the 2008/ 09 season, he is back at the EHC Linz under contract. His brother Philip is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Robert Luke began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at the Vienna EV, for the first team, he was active in the Austrian Hockey League from 1997 to 1999. Then the defender for ever changed one season on its league rivals VEU Feldkirch and EC VSV. In the summer of 2001, he joined the EHC Linz, with whom he won the national championship for the first time in the season 2002/ 03. After three years of links Sagittarius Linz left again and started the 2004/05 season at the Malmö Redhawks in the Swedish Elitserien. After just one game, he left this already but again and signed with the Vienna Capitals of the capital, Vienna.

In the season 2005/ 06 Luke returned to the EHC Linz, before he signed in the play-offs at the Kloten Flyers in the Swiss National League. The following year, the national team played mostly for his former club, the Vienna Capitals. For the season 2007/ 08, the Olympian was committed in 2002, first from HK Nitra in the Slovak Extraliga. Shortly before the play-offs in the EBEL he returned, however, returned to Austria, where Luke with the EC Red Bull Salzburg in 2008 for the third time champion. Since 2008, the Austrians is back for the Black Wings Linz in the ice.

Internationally

For Austria, Luke participated in the Junior C World Cup 1997, as well as the World Championships for Division I in 2006 and 2008 in part. In addition, he was in the squad of Austria to the A World Championships in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007, and at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and the qualification for the Olympic Winter Games 2006 in Turin.
