Robert M. Fresco

Robert Maurice Fresco ( born October 18, 1930 in Culver City, California, † February 14, 2014 in Manhattan, New York) was an American screenwriter, producer and director, through movies such as Tarantula, The mystery of the stone monster or Where please there's beer on the front? became internationally known.

Life and career

Robert M. Fresco, born in 1930 as the son of an immigrant Jewish family from Turkey, mid-twenties began to write screenplays for the cinema. As 1955 was for Tarantula director Jack Arnold and 1957 The mystery of the stone monster with director John Sherwood. He also wrote screenplays for television series and documentaries. For the short documentary Czechoslovakia in 1968, he won in 1970 along with Denis Sanders Oscar in this category.

In addition to his career as a screenwriter for film and television in Hollywood, he held lectures on issues like film, television and communication at Columbia University and Hofstra University.

Robert M. Fresco wrote in his career over a dozen screenplays, produced and directed by himself once. On February 14, 2014 Fresco died in Manhattan at the age of 83 years.
