Robert M. Leach

Robert Milton Leach ( born April 2, 1879 in Franklin, New Hampshire, † February 18, 1952 in Eustis, Florida ) was an American politician. In the years 1924 and 1925, he represented the state of Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Robert Leach attended the public schools of his home and then the Phillips Exeter Academy and Dartmouth College. In 1900 he moved to Taunton, Massachusetts, where he was engaged in the furniture trade. Soon he ran in New England a chain store for furniture. During the First World War he was Ordinanzoffizier in the U.S. Army with the rank of captain. Politically, he joined the Republican Party.

After the death of Mr William S. Greene Leach was at the due election for the 15th seat from Massachusetts as his successor in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on 4 November 1924. Since he did not run in the regular congressional elections of 1924, he could only finish the current term in Congress until March 3, 1925.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Robert Leach took his previous activities on again. He died on February 18, 1952 in Eustis, and was buried in his birthplace of Franklin.
