Robert Mateja

Robert Mateja ( born October 5, 1974 in Zakopane ) is a former Polish ski jumper and today's ski jumping coach.

Career

He is living in Chochołów and started for the club TS Wista Zakopane. In 1992 Mateja in Falun for the first time in the World Cup and received the 1996 Lillehammer first World Cup points. His greatest single achievement was the 5th place on the normal hill at the 1997 World Series in Trondheim. At the Olympic Games in Nagano in 1998, he was ranked 21 on the normal hill and 20th place on the large hill. 2002 Salt Lake City, he was able to achieve on the large hill in 29th place. In Turin in 2006, he also belonged to the Polish contingent and reached number 25 on the normal hill

Mateja has won three competitions in the Continental Cup. In the World Cup he could reach twice a fifth.

After the 2007/ 08 season Mateja ended his career and was assistant coach of the Polish National A- squad.
