Robert Nikolic

Robert Nikolic ( born August 1, 1968 in Bonn ) is a former German football player. With 272 games in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga without scoring Nikolic is the torungefährlichste fielders in the history of German professional leagues.

The professional career of the Defender began in 1988 with Borussia Dortmund. Borussia translated Nikolic to 1991 51 times in the Bundesliga one. 1989 Nikolic won the Dortmundern the DFB Cup.

In the 1990s, Nikolic played for second division club FC St. Pauli and KFC Uerdingen 05 and for the third division Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. For Uerdingen Nikolic in the final minute of the Cup game at SV Meppen succeeded on 3 December 1997 his only professional goal for the final score of 0:2.

In 1999, Nikolic to the second division FSV Mainz 05 1, where he initially deemed faulty purchase, but after a six-month loan to the regional league team SV Darmstadt 98 prevailed and stayed longer than any other club. After his return from Darmstadt in the summer of 2000 Nikolic was retrained to right-back. The fast and combative players formed with the technically strong and clearly offensive Manuel Friedrich a congenial duo on the right side Mainz defense. 2004 Nikolic rose with Mainzern to the Bundesliga, so that he could complete another 15 games in this league 13 years after his last top-flight use.

In summer 2005, Nikolic ended his career.

Curiosities

After the rise of the Mainz Bunte magazine dedicated to the defenders a poorly researched article in which Nikolic was assumed that he had missed the job - after all, it should not be that a striker does not score goals in over 200 games.
