Robert Olejnik

Robert Olejnik (* November 26, 1986 in Vienna) is an Austrian football player who is under contract with the English second division club Peterborough United since 2012.

Career

The son of Polish immigrants began his career in the youth teams of Rapid Vienna and Austria Vienna. After successful performances at the U- 17 Championship 2003, several teams from abroad were aware of the goalkeeper. In 2003, he joined the youth team of Aston Villa. In 2005, he was brought in as third-choice goalkeeper in the first team of Aston Villa. In early 2007 the Austrians went on loan to Lincoln City to raise there game practice. In the summer 2007 he moved to the Scottish first division club FC Falkirk, the contract duration was two years, the contract was extended later.

On January 2, 2008, he celebrated against FC Kilmarnock a three-minute debut, and in the subsequent round he played for the whole 90 minutes.

On 1 July 2011, he joined the English Football League Two Torquay United. In recognition for his good performances Olejnik was elected at the end of the 2011/12 season in the PFA Team of the Year of the fourth league.

At the beginning of the season 2012/13 he moved to second division club Peterborough United.
