Robert Peterson (art director)

Robert Peterson ( born August 15, 1909 in Idaho Springs, Colorado, † January 10, 1979 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American art director and production designer, who was nominated for the Academy Awards in 1941 for an Oscar for Best Production Design.

Life

Peterson began his career as an art director and production designer in the film industry in Hollywood in the black and white film Arizona ( 1940). Already for this debut film, directed by Wesley Ruggles a Western with Jean Arthur, William Holden and Warren William in the lead roles, he was nominated along with Lionel Banks for the Academy Award for Best Production Design.

Throughout his career that spanned until his death he worked with at the scenic features of more than 100 films, television films and television series.
