Robert Pötzelberger

Robert Poetzelberger ( born June 9, 1856 in Vienna, † August 2, 1930 in Reichenau, Lake Constance ) was a German painter, sculptor and art professor.

Robert Poetzelberger taught from 1880 to 1892 at the Art Academy in Munich. Following this, he held a professorship at the Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe and moved in 1899 to Stuttgart Art Academy, where he retired in 1926. In Stuttgart Poetzelberger was one of the teachers of Willi Baumeister.

Poetzelbergers painting was influenced very academic and influenced by French Impressionism. In addition to his genre and landscape painting he also lithographs ago.

His son Oswald Poetzelberger was also a painter.

One he designed in 1904 for the family tomb of Heilbronn industrialist family Hagenbucher Pietà is located since 1953 in the Heilbronn Cemetery.
