Robert Quiroga

Robert Quiroga (born 10 October 1969 in San Antonio, Texas; † August 16, 2004 San Antonio, Texas ) was an American boxer and IBF world champion in the super flyweight.

Quiroga was U.S. champion in December 1989 and in April 1990 won the world title in the IBF Super Flyweight by points victory over Juan Polo Perez. By July 1992, he defended the title against Vuyani Nene, Vincenzo Belcastro, Akeem Anifowoshe, Carlos Mercado and José Ruíz Matos, where his fight was elected to Anifowoshe by Ring Magazine for "Fight of the Year".

In January 1993, he lost his title by a knockout loss to Julio Cesar Borboa and ended after another defeat in 1995 his career.

On 16 August 2004 Quiroga was found stabbed to death.
