Robert Reed

Robert Reed ( * October 19, 1932 in Highland Park, Illinois, USA; † 12 May 1992, Pasadena, California, USA; actually John Robert Rietz Jr.) was an American theater, film and television actor.

John Robert Rietz Jr. grew up in Oklahoma and took an early interest in the theater. After school he took classical drama classes at Northwestern University. There he also met his wife, Marilyn Rosenberg, with whom he was married for two years; from the connection originates daughter Caroline. After studying acting in America, the aspiring actor deepened his knowledge in London at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, where he was trained as a Shakespearean actor. Back in the USA could Rietz Jr., who now called himself Robert Reed, celebrate some stage successes before the early 1960s was on television then popular. Getting attention he found his starring role of the young Kenneth Preston in the court - series Preston & Preston, then he appeared in many popular series such as The Fugitive, Family Affair or The Boss. The figure of Adam Tobias Mannix embodied in the actor until the end of the series, at the same time he played from 1969 to Mike Brady in the sitcom Three girls and three boys, also a character he played for several years ( until 1974 ).

The list of guest appearances in numerous hit television productions is long, Robert Reed remained well until his death in business. In his last years he worked as a Shakespearean drama teacher at the University of California at Los Angeles. Robert Reed known all his life not his homosexuality for fear that his career may suffer. His early death was related to his HIV infection.
