Robert Reinick

Robert Reinic ( born February 22, 1805 in Gdansk, † February 7, 1852 in Dresden ) was a German painter and poet.

Life

Reinic visited in 1825 the Academy of Arts in Berlin, since 1827 as a student Carl Joseph Bega ' (including bagasse ). He remained until 1831 in Berlin, where he was among other things, Adelbert von Chamisso and Eichendorff in exchange. Since that time, he turned to the next painting of the seal.

After 1831 he continued his studies at the Art Academy Dusseldorf and made mandatory in 1838 under artists study trip to Italy.

In 1844 he married and settled in Dresden, where he worked until his death as a poet, translator and painter. To his friends and circle of friends included Franz Theodor Kugler, Theobald von Oer, Georg Wigand, Hugo Bürkner, Alfred Rethel, Robert Schumann, Richard Wagner, Ferdinand Hiller.

Reinic written two opera libretti: Conradin ( set to music by Ferdinand Hiller; UA October 13, 1847 in Dresden) and Genoveva ( by Robert Schumann initially rejected, then fashioned, in the version set to music come about 200 verses of Reinic ). Of his translations of the poems of Johann Peter Hebel Allemannischen are emphasized, which he translated into High German.

Reinic died in 1852 in Dresden and was buried in the Trinity Cemetery.

Robert Reinicks poem As yet the earth is so beautiful, so beautiful! was set to music by Johannes Brahms ( Juchhe!, No. 4 from Six Songs, Op. 6). It became known to a wide audience by Loriot film Ödipussi.
