Robert Satcher

Robert Lee " Bobby" Satcher, Jr. ( born September 22, 1965 in Hampton, Virginia, USA ) is a former American astronaut.

Astronauts activity

In May 2004, Satcher was selected as a mission specialist with the 19th NASA astronaut candidate group. In February 2006 he completed his astronaut training. He left NASA in September 2011.

STS -129

Satcher was nominated in September 2008 for the Space Shuttle mission STS -129. He started on 16 November 2009 with the space shuttle Atlantis to the International Space Station (ISS). On 19 November, he led, together with Michael Foreman by a spacewalk. Among other things, they installed a spare antenna, installed cables and lubricated moving parts. On November 23, 2009, he undertook together with Randy Bresnik another spacewalk.
