Robert Steiner (writer)

Robert Steiner ( born December 7, 1976 in Stuttgart ) is a German writer and extreme climbers.

Life

Steiner grew up in Ostelsheim in the northern Black Forest. After graduating from high school in 1996 in Weil der Stadt Steiner studied from 1997 to 2003 in Freiburg im Breisgau Geography and German to become a teacher. He completed his studies with state exam and became teacher. Robert Steiner is married.

He started early with climbing. At the age of 17, he climbed the great alpine north faces alone: Eiger, Matterhorn, Grandes Jorasses. He also climbed big walls in British Columbia and 14 routes on El Capitan in part solo and in winter, for example, the route The Nose. This was followed by expeditions to Mount Everest region, Langtang in Tibet, Rolwaling, Tien Shan. 2006 succeeded in the first ascent of the north face of Pik Pogrebetskij in the Tien Shan with a Russian team.

In 1997, a climbing accident on the Grandes Jorasses changed his life and led to his acclaimed debut album Blessed is he who dies in dreams.
