Robert Veyron-Lacroix

Robert Veyron - Lacroix ( born December 13, 1922 in Paris, † April 3, 1991 in Garches ) was a French harpsichordist and pianist.

Life and work

Robert Veyron - Lacroix studied at the Conservatoire de Paris, where he also taught from 1988 to 1967. He was known primarily as a partner of the flutist Jean -Pierre Rampal, with whom he appeared in the world's forty years of collaboration and numerous plates grossed, five of which were awarded the Grand Prix du Disque. In addition, he worked among others, also with Paul Tortelier, Arthur Grumiaux, Jordi Savall and Jean -François Paillard and his orchestra, he recorded all the harpsichord concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach.

His repertoire included not only Baroque composers such as Bach, Telemann, Couperin and Rameau, the chamber works by Haydn, Beethoven and Schubert, Poulenc, Hindemith, Martinu and Bartók.

Publication

1955 Robert Veyron - Lacroix published the book " Recherche de musique ancienne " (the study of early music ).
