Robert Weber (astronomer)

Robert Weber ( * 1926, † 2008) was an American astronomer and discoverer of asteroids.

He worked 1962-1996 at the Lincoln Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. There he developed shortly before his retirement in 1996, the forerunner of the LINEAR project and discovered at the Lincoln Laboratory ETS in Socorro in the U.S. state of New Mexico between 1995 and 1996 a total of eight asteroids.

The asteroid ( 6181 ) Bobweber was named after him in 2008.
