Robert Wedderburn (statistician)

Robert William MacLagan Wedderburn ( b. 1947 in Edinburgh, † 1975) was a British statistician.

Wedderburn studied at Cambridge University and worked with John Nelder at the Rothamstead Experimental Station, where both 1972 Generalized Linear Models developed. He died at only 28 years from anaphylactic shock after an insect bite.
