Robert Wells (Boxer)

Robert Wells ( born May 15, 1961 in London) is a former British boxer in the super heavyweight ( 91 kg).

Robert Wells is the son of boxer William Robert " Billy" Wells, who took part in 1968 in the Olympic Games and reached the 9th place in the heavyweight division.

Robert Wells trained at Kingston Amateur Boxing Club and in 1984 English Champion, where he defeated in the finals Everett McLean. He then participated in the 23th Summer Olympic Games in 1984 partly in Los Angeles, where he won the bronze medal. He defeated it Viliami Pulu of Tonga by Ko in the first round, but lost in the semifinals of the Italian Francesco Damiani by referee demolition in Round 3

In the years 1986 and 1989 he played five pro fights in London, Tallinn and Moscow, of which he won three.
