Robert Whitaker (equestrian)

Robert Whitaker ( born January 26, 1983 in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire ) is a British show jumper.

In April 2013, is located at No. 67 in the world rankings after he was formerly conducted at No. 61.

Career

Robert is an internationally successful British show jumper who rides in Nations Cups for the United Kingdom since junior times.

At the Nation in Norway in 2001, he rode in a team with his father John, his uncle Michael and his sister Louise. Thus, Britain established the first time a team that consisted solely of members of a family.

2003, 2008 and 2009 he won the British Open.

At the horse show in Stockholm 2011 he jumped bareback a 2.12 meters, setting a world record.

Private

Robert Whitaker is the son of show jumping legend John Whitaker and his wife Clare Barr, nephew of Michael Whitaker and cousin of Ellen Whitaker and William Whitaker.

In January 2013 he was sentenced to a fine and a six-month competition ban on parole because he followed a security guard in 2012 during the Horse of the Year Show.

He lives in Belgium. On April 6, 2013 he and his girlfriend became parents of a daughter.
