Robert Wingfield (diplomat)

Sir Robert Wingfield (c. 1464, † 1539) was an English diplomat.

The 7th son of Sir John Wingfield was King Henry VIII at the request diplomat. As the first settled minister in 1510, he went to the court of the German Emperor Maximilian and stayed as a mediator English interests and imperial intent there until 1517. 159 letters from this period are received from him.
