Robert Zimmer (philosopher)

Robert room ( born October 25, 1953 in Trier ) is a German philosopher, essayist and literary critic. As a freelance writer and journalist he has lived since 2013 in Stuttgart and published especially popular science introductions to philosophy.

Life

Robert room was born on October 25, 1953 in Trier and spent his school years in Saarbrücken. He studied philosophy and English at the University of Saarland in Saarbrücken, he graduated in 1981 with a thesis on Benedetto Croce ( unity and development in Benedetto Croce's aesthetics, 1985, new edition 2011) from. In 1989 he received his doctorate with a dissertation on Edmund Burke at the Heinrich- Heine University in Dusseldorf ( Edmund Burke's rhetoric in his Irish writings, Fool, 1990). Room worked until 1991 as a lecturer at the University of Dusseldorf and to 1996 as a lecturer at the Free University of Berlin and the Technical University of Berlin. He also worked for many years as a lecturer at community colleges. Since then he works as a freelance nonfiction writer. From 1986 to 2013 he lived in Berlin since November 2013 in Stuttgart. Since the 1980s he has a second home in the Eifel village Stadtkyll.

Work

Room goal is to convey classical content of philosophy in a language understandable to a wide audience.
