Roberto Chiappa

Roberto Chiappa ( born September 11, 1973 in Terni ) is an Italian former racing cyclist.

Roberto Chiappa is one of the longest active racing cyclist. As early as 1990 he won at the Junior Track World Championships in the English Middlesbrough in third place in the sprint and won the competition the following year. By 2009 Chiappa won numerous Italian champion in sprint, Keirin in, in the team sprint and the 500m time trial. Internationally, he could win multiple podium finishes in World Cup races.

1993 Roberto Chiappa Federico Paris together with world champion in tandem race. In 1994, when this discipline for the last time was on the agenda of UCI Track World Championships, the two riders reached the third place.

Roberto Chiappa participated in four Olympic Games, in part, 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2008. His best finish was a fourth place at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.

In August 2010, the 36 -year-old Chiappa won at the Italian track championships in his 47 Mori and 48 national titles in the sprint and the team sprint ( with Loris Paoli and Andrea Prati ).
