Esposito problematized in his work philosophical and political concepts and combines them in a historical and theoretical bio-political point of view, new, non-illuminated to highlight aspects of their meaning. This results in a spectrum of interpretation, which is located at the intersection of philosophy, anthropology, literature and theology.

Through analyzes of the political categories of classics of modern and contemporary thought (from Machiavelli to Carl Schmitt, from Hannah Arendt to Simone Weil, by Georges Bataille and to Leo Strauss), he emphasizes the limits of politics that is constantly confronted with its lively shape looks ( "bios "). In his books he borrows from Giorgio Agamben, whose name he still hardly cited.
