Roberto Sighel

Roberto Sighel ( born February 17, 1967 in Trento ) is an Italian former speed skater.

Sighel in 1992 in Calgary as the first and only Italian world champion in the all around. He also won the 1991 silver and 1995 and 1998 bronze medal in the all-around world championships.

Sighels career spanned 14 years. He took in the period from 1988 to 2002, all five Winter Olympics in part, but without winning a medal.

In 1999 he set a new hour record in speed skating with 41.041 km. He ran in the Olympic Oval just 850 meters further than the previous record holder Olaf Kotva from Germany. It should take about five years to the Dutchman Henk Angenent in 2004 surpassed its brand.
