Roberts Blossom

Roberts Scott Blossom ( March 25, 1924 in New Haven, Connecticut; † July 8, 2011 in Santa Monica, California ) was an American actor.

Life

Roberts Blossom graduated in 1941, the Asheville School and then studied at Harvard University. He played in the 1950s, some theater roles for which he received an Obie Award four times. His first film role was in the television adaptation of the play Our Town from the year 1959.

In the thriller Obsessed (1974 ) Blossom played the lead role of the killer Ezra Cobb. In awarded two Oscars drama The Great Gatsby (1974 ), he starred alongside Robert Redford. For the role of a villain in the television series Another World, which he played from 1976 to 1977, he won the Soapy Award 1978. In the comedy Doc Hollywood ( 1991) he played the Judge Evans, Dr. Benjamin Stone, played by Michael J. Fox, sentenced to community service, which is staying this long period of time in a small town. In the 1990s, Blossom gave up his career as an actor and worked as a poet.

On July 8, 2011, he died at age 87 in Santa Monica.
