Robin Hahnel

Robin Hahnel Eric ( born March 25, 1946) is Professor of Economics at the American University in Washington, DC.

Work

Hahnel is the author of several books that deal with a non- hierarchical, participatory economics system. This economic system is to do without hierarchies and markets, as in the opinion Hahnels the market economy promotes inequality and unemployment.

The specialization should be preserved, but it is not seen as an absolute category; the work is not to be dull, but everyone should have to do a fair share of attractive and less attractive work. There is no private ownership of means of production. This is to prevent that the power is concentrated in the hands of relatively few people.
