Robin Hoffmann

Robin Hoffmann (born 18 February 1984 in Big Grove ) is a German composer, orchestrator and arranger.

Childhood and youth

Robin Hoffmann's father, Thomas Hoffmann, a cellist and pianist and played for a long time in professional bands such as SET or gong and took decisive influence on his musical development. Hoffmann began at the age of seven years to play the piano and wrote his first compositions was eleven years old. As part of his baccalaureate, he wrote a composition for symphonic orchestra, which was premiered in 2001 by the New Elbe Philharmonic under Peter Fanger.

After finishing school he devoted himself to composing music for amateur films, projects of film students and computer games.

From 2004 to 2008 he studied composition, arrangement and piano under Rainer Lischka, Marko Lackner, Lars Juling, Clemens Kühn and Jochen Aldinger at the University of Music Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden.

Professional career

While still a student, he was commissioned to write the soundtrack for the Swiss- British film production Save Angel Hope. A year later he founded with the Swiss composer Moritz Schneider, the company " Nachos and Cheese", which specializes in the composition and production of music for media. Together with Schneider he has since worked in various Central European film productions.

2009 Hoffmann was commissioned music for Dällebach Kari - to write the musical, which premiered at the Thun lake games on July 14, 2010 Thun, Switzerland. In addition to his work for films, musicals and media he writes concert music for various companies and artists. He worked with the London Symphony Orchestra, which began in 2010 under the leadership of Benjamin Wallfisch Violin Concerto for Anna Karkowska in London's Abbey Road Studios. He also worked with the " City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra", the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt ( Oder), the Dresden Philharmonic, the Dresden Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Robert Balzar Trio, KungFu Horns and Chris Muzik.
