Robin Holloway

Robin Greville Holloway (* October 19, 1943 in Leamington Spa) is an English composer.

Life

From 1952 to 1957 he was a chorister at St Paul's Cathedral in London. He matriculated at King's College (Cambridge) and studied composition with Alexander Goehr. In 1974, Holloway Assistant Lecturer was in Music at the University of Cambridge and from 1980 on he was then lecturer. He was awarded the academic degree Reader in Composition in 1999 and since 2001 he is Professor of Composition. He is also a ' Fellow ' of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge.

Work

Holloway was referred to as " neo -romantic " composer; this is also reflected in its affinity for music at the turn of the century ( 1900).
